His breadth of experience and achievements in treating peripheral vascular conditions allows him a unique perspective and qualification in helping his patients.

Best Candidates

If you are allergic to lidocaine, a local anesthetic, you may be a better candidate for ClariVein. All patients receive a comprehensive initial evaluation and treatments directly from Dr. Brennig, rather than a nurse or an associate. As a board-certified vascular surgeon with years of experience successfully treating all types of vein problems, you can be assured to receive a premium level of care. In order for Dr. Brennig to discern whether or not you are a candidate for ClariVein, an evaluation and examination (including an ultrasound) must be performed on the affected veins. Your detailed treatment plan will then be developed based on those findings for your benefit and personalized care.

Treatment Details

At the Austin Vein Institute, you will be escorted to one of our vein therapy rooms to have your ClariVein procedure. Certified to use the ClariVein, Dr. Brennig will be performing the insertion of the infusion catheter.  A bonus feature of the ClariVein procedure is that it is a technique for axial vein ablation that does not require the use of local anesthetic (lidocaine). A 360° rotating, mechanical ablation tip combined with a sclerotherapy infusion micro-catheter will ablate your varicose veins. Once the vein has been properly treated, Dr. Brennig will take out the catheter and bandage the skin.

Recovery

Your recovery time after a ClariVein procedure will be dependent on your vein situation. Healing varicose veins take time, but your skin should continually improve as days pass. Our team will provide you with aftercare instructions you will need to follow for optimal outcomes.
